Accessing CIS Web-Based Training (WBT) Courses
The CIS Web-Based Training materials are currently being rewritten to reflect new system functionality and to prepare them for use in a new Enterprise Learning Management System that is scheduled to be deployed in November 2008.
In the interim, some users must access their training from two different systems: the Children’s Applications Portal and CHEX, the organization’s current web-based Learning Management System.
Prior to accessing the training, you should receive specific information on which CIS Web-Based Training courses you need and how to access them.
WBT Course Locations
All CIS Web-Based Training is being migrated to CHEX, so the list of courses in CHEX will grow rapidly over time.
In the meantime, use the following tables to locate the training you need:

Accessing Courses in CHEX
For courses in CHEX, we have provided direct links to the course. You will be prompted to log in to CHEX when accessing the course.
Your CHEX username and password are different from your Children’s network username and password. If you have trouble accessing CHEX, contact the Children’s Help Desk at (206) 987-1111.

If you need to take one or more WBTs located in the Children’s Application Portal, follow the steps below:

If you are outside the Children's network : Open your web browser and go to https://remote.seattlechildrens.org
- If prompted, log in using your network Username and Password.
If the Log On to Windows dialog displays, make sure the CHILDRENS domain is selected in the Log on to drop-down, as shown below:

- Complete the WBT logon screen by entering the required information:
- Network Username: Enter your Children’s network username

- Choose a WBT course and then click Next. You may need to use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to locate the appropriate course.
Courses with pre-requisites are grayed out until the pre-requisites are completed. If you cannot select a course you need, make sure you have completed all pre-requisite courses first!
- Select your role and then click Next.
The user role you choose determines which lessons you see, so be sure to select the appropriate role!
- Review your course and role selections and then click the Start button.
- When you have finished a course, be sure to complete the online evaluation at the end.
If you do not complete the WBT Course Evaluation, you will not receive credit for taking the WBT.
